Extremely heavy rain taking place in some parts of Saurashtra, South Gujarat

Amid the forecast of heavy to extremely heavy rainfall today and tomorrow, Rajula taluka has received around five inches of rain in just two hours today.
An official bulletin of met office said that Rajula has received 120 mm rainfall between 2 to 4 pm this afternoon. Veraval in Gir Somnath district which had seen maximum 169 mm (around seven inches) in last 24 hours has also seen over four inches (107mm) today. Kamrej in Surat and Vantahli in Junagadh have seen around 4 inches of rain by 4 pm today.
From 8 am to 4 pm today a total of 107 talukas have seen various amount of downpour. with around 20 seeing aournd 2 inches and above. 39 talukas have seen over one inch of rain.
There is likelihood of heavy to very heavy spells in the late evening or night also. In the last 24 hours ending at 8 am today a total o 177 talukas of 33 districts have seen rainfall in various amounts taking the state rain average percentage so far to 45.90%.
