Extreme rain situation in Gujarat: Latest official figures of last 24 hours

Gandhinagar: Following is the latest briefing arriving from the State Emergency Centre, Gandhinagar on heavy rainfall situation. All figures are official and briefed by the State government:
– In last 24 hours 9,252 persons are shifted to safer places. This includes 9,145 in Banaskantha and 107 in Sabarkantha.
– With this the total number of people shifted to safer places is 20,659. Of them 8,518 have returned to homes.
– One national highway, 80 state highways and 233 panchayat roads – in total 314 roads are closed for traffic. Of the highest number of 157 stretches are in Sabarkantha district.
– NDRF, IAF, Army, SDRF, SRP and local teams have rescued 795 persons between 21-24 July(6 pm).
– Power loss was reported in 276 villages including 222 in Banaskantha, 22-22 each in Surendranagar and Mahesana, 5 in Patan, 2-2 villages each in Chhota Udepur and Ahmedabad and 1 in Morbi district.
– Four deaths are reported due to heavy rain situation in last 24 hours. The total death toll due to heavy rainfall is 72 now.
– Death toll for cattle is 993 including 4 in last 24 hours.
– 12 teams of NDRF are on standby mode at various locations.
– Very heavy rainfall has been predicted by IMD in next 24 hours.
Rain fall during 8 am – 6 pm
In day time (8 am to 6 pm) highest rain was experienced in Amirgadh which was 191 mm. Other figures: Deodar 170 mm, Lakhni 170 mm, Vadgam 193 mm which comes to more than 7 inches.
Sarswati 158 mm(more than 6 inch).
Dantiwada 120 mm, Deesa 127 mm, Poshina 121 mm, Himmatnagar 141 mm, Idar 144 mm(over 5 inch).
Prantij 101 mm, Talod, 114 mm, Bhiloda 109 mm, Dhansura 110 mm, Mansa 101 mm, Modasa 96 mm(over 4 inch).
Chanasma 72 mm, Bhabhar 99 mm, Bechraji 82 mm, Khedrahma 90 mm, Vadali 86 mm, Vijaynagar 87 mm, Gandhinagar 73 mm( Over 3 inch).
Harij 59 mm, Radhanur 69 mm, Sami 63 mm, Tharad 66 mm, Jotana 53 mm, Kheralu 66 mm, Mahesana 54 mm, Satlasna 67 mm, Unjha 50 mm, Meghraj 50 mm, Dahegam 69 mm, Detroj 60 mm(over 2 inch).
Out of 203 reservoirs, 40 are on high alert, 12 on alert.
