PM Narendra Modi to inaugurate the Narmada dam in Gujarat on his birthday
August 23, 2017
Gandhinagar: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi will dedicate the Narmada dam on his birthday, September 17 at Kevadia Colony in Central Gujarat.
Narmada dam which has been completed recently with installation of gates over it will be dedicated in presence of saints, mahants and leaders from various walks of society. A big public meeting will also be held at Dabhoi town in presence of Prime Minister Modi.
Ahead of this event, the State government will organize Narmada Mahotsav yatra during 6-15 September in which BJP workers will actively participate.
It should be mentioned that earlier the Prime Minister was to come to Gujarat on 12th August to inaugurate the Narmada dam and address a public gathering at Dabhoi. However due to post-flood situation in North Gujarat and other parts of the State the State government postponed the Narmada Mahotsav and at the same time, Prime Minister’s visit also had to be postponed. Perhaps it’s a fate that Prime Minister is now going to inaugurate the Narmada dam on his birthday.
It’s worth noting here that in the month of September, Prime Minister is likely to be visiting Gujarat twice. He is also going to visit the State during 13-15 September along with Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe.
