Amreli: Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the new Marketing Yard here today built on 45-acre plot on Savarkundla Road at a cost of Rs.125-crore in presence of Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, Deputy Chief Minister Nitinbhai Patel, Marketing Yard Chairman P.P. Sojitra and others.

Mr. Modi also unveiled a statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, revered as the architect of Akhand Bharat, at the entrance to the yard.

The modern yard has 2.5-lakh sq ft auction platforms, 500 shops, 50 godowns, bank branches, restaurant, dining hall, guest house, agricultural mall and farmers’ training centre. Mr. Modi also inaugurated other civil works and laid the foundation stone of new works at Amreli worth Rs.185-crore on the occasion.

Citizens made the occasion different like Surat’s fourth standard student Devanshi Patel presenting an album of Prime Minister’s photographs to him, and an 80-year-old Champaben Ramani leading a group of women arriving at the venue to bless Mr. Modi on his birthday today.
