Withdrawal of monsoon from Gujarat finally begins, 110.66% rain this year, 18 districts saw over 100%

Ahmedabad: The withdrawal of South West Monsoon from Gujarat finally started today after a delay of over 11 days from normal date of September 15 and a total of 110.66% rain.
The monsoon had touched Gujarat on June 12 this year almost 3 days before normal date of June 15.
During the monsoon the state saw some spells of extremely heavy downpours which even caused devastating floods.
The met bulletin today said that monsoon has withdrawn from parts of Kutch and the line passes through 23ºN over North Arabian Sea and Naliya. The weather was completely dry today with no rain reported from any where. The forecast for the next 5 days was also dry weather across the state.
As per the official data, during the monsoon this year regions wise North Gujarat saw the maximum percentage of 144.25% of rain with all its six districts seeing over 100% rain.
East Central Gujarat saw the least yet quite high 89.04% rain. Ahmedabad district and city situated in this zone however saw over its full quota of rain with figures of 103.15 and 135.18 % respectively. The district with lowest rain percentage of 64.42 Vadodara is also in this region.
Saurashtra region saw 115.95% rain with its Morbi district remaining on top in this regard with 193.75%. Kutch district cum region recorded 115.45% while South Gujarat which has volume-wise seen maximum rain with its Valsad district seeing maximum 2460mm of rain has seen 94.61% rain.
In all 18 of the total 33 districts have seen over 100% rain. Of these 2 each were in South (Bharuch, Valsad) and East Central (Ahmedabad, Kheda) regions. All 6 districts of North (Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Patan, Aravalli, Mahesana and Gandhinagar) and 7 of Saurashtra (Morbi, Gir Somnath, Surendranagar, Botad, Rajkot, Devbhoomi-Dwarka and Jamnagar) and the single district Kutch of the region by same name were also included among such districts.
Notably, since 2011 each year the withdrawal of monsoon was taking place with some delay.
