BJP questions PFI – SDPI fund to Congress supported candidate, choice of Salman Nizami for campaign in Gujarat

Ahmedabad: BJP spokesperson Sambit Patra today questioned radical Islamist group PFI-SDPI support to Congress supported candidate Jignesh Mevani.

Patra said he considers Mevani as Congress candidate as Congress has not fielded its candidate against Mevani and Congress is extended support to him.

Patra said Mevani received cheque by SDPI which is political wing of PFI. SDPI Gujarat office bearer also has admitted that SDPI has extended financial aid to Mevani. SDPI and Jignesh Mevani are seen campaigning jointly sharing same stage. This is worrying situation and people of Gujarat because PFI is under the scanner of NIA for terror links.

Patra also questioned Congress for fielding Salman Nizami in Gujarat campaign.

Patra said: Salman Nizami is senior leader of Congress in Jammu & Kashmir. He is in Gujarat for Congress campaign. His some tweets showcase his mentality. On 27 January 2013 he tweeted, ‘Now retweet if you hate your country, I hate India’. In February 2013 he tweeted, ‘We want a separate country #HateIndia’. In another tweet Salman Nizami said, ‘I hate you India and I mean it #ShahidAfzalguru’. In March 2013 he tweeted, ‘Ae Hindustan, tumhara aek Bhagatsinh desh ki azadi ke liye kya kurban huva, hamara ek lakh pachas hajar log Kashmir ki azadi ke liye kurban huve’. He also tweeted, ‘Tum kitne Afzal maronge, harr ghar se Afzal niklega.’ In one more tweet he said, ‘Now I challenge BJP to hold rally in Kashmir. We would not disrupt the rally but hang them individually at Ghanta ghar.’
