Congress wins 5, BJP 7, Independent 1 SC reserved seat

Gandhinagar: Among the seats reserved for Scheduled Castes, BJP has won Asarva, Gandhidham, Kadi, Idrar, Rajkot Rural, Vadodara City, Bardoli and Idar seats while Congress has won Dasada, Kalavad, Danilimda, Kodinar and Gadhda seat. Congress supported independent candidate Jignesh Mevani has won Vadgam seat.
Gujarat BJP’s top Dalit leader Ramanlal Vora has lost election on Dasada seat. Vora was Idar MLA. However party gave ticket of Idar seat to actor Hitu Kanodia and shifted Vora to other reserved seat for SC at Dasada. While Kanodia won the election, Vora lost.
In 2012, out of total 13 reserved seats for SCs,Congress won only 3 seats while this time Congress has on 5, Congress supported independent 1 and BJP 7.
