Nitin Patel rejects Mahesana bandh call given by SPG, hopes party leaders will take right decision
December 30, 2017
Ahmedabad: Speaking to media persons at his residence, deputy chief minister Nitin Patel who is sulking over portfolios allocated to him said he had full faith in party leaders that they will take right decision on this issue.
Nitin Patel rejected the Mahesana bandh call given by Patidar caste hardliner group SPG on January 1. He said this is internal issue of BJP and there should not be any strike call over it in Mahesana.
Nitin Patel thanked all his supporters and well-wishers.
He rejected the rumor that he would rebel against BJP with support of 10 MLAs and switch over to Congress or take Congress support to make government.
Nitin Patel said, ‘it is wrong to say that I am going to resign along with 10 MLAs. I have taken up the mater with party leaders and they have taken the issue seriously. I have full faith that party will take right decision.’
Patel in reply to media query said he will not leave the party and added, ‘I have worked hard for party for last 40 years. The issue is not about post but about prestige and respect.’
Nitin Patel said he had not called anyone to meet him, but everyone was free to meet him at his residence.
