Hooligans who went of rampage during Bharat Bandh in Gujarat yesterday won’t get off scot-free

The hooligans who went on rampage across Guajrat during Bharat Bandh on SC/ST (Prevention of Atrocities Act) yesterday and involved in act of violence and attack on public properties including offices and vehicles, will not get off scot-free, a senior police officer today said.
Several buses and other vehicles were damaged by the bandh supporters while policemen and others were attacked and injured.
The police officer today said that those involved in act of violence would not be spared. They will be identified and nabbed with the help of CCTV footage and other ways.
‘Peaceful protest was right of every citizen but indulging in violence that too unnecessary which was like terrorizing commoners can’t be allowed in a civilized society,’ he said.
Meanwhile, cases of under sections pertaining to rioting and other sections of the IPC are being lodged in this connection. Over half a dozen such cases have been lodged in Ahmedabad city alone. These are in Ramol, Khadia, Shahibaug, Vejalpur, Gomtipur, Khalupur and some other police station areas.
Such cases have also been lodged in other cities including Rajkot, Bhavangar, Gandhidham, Rajula, Junagadh, Wadhwan etc.
