As per the official data issued by the IMD center here today the state has seen only an average of 3.5 mm of rain from June 1 to 22 so far while the normal figure for the period was 55.5 mm. Hence, a deficit of 94% rain this month so far has been recorded.

Valsad is the top rain-getter district in terms of actual amount with 41.4mm but was still 81% deficient of June rain as its month average stood at a higher figure of 220.1mm, however in terms of the minimum deficit so far Surat with only 66% (received 39.9mm against 117.5mm) was best placed.
