Rajkot Congress president Indranil Rajyaguru quits Congress

Rajkot: Rajkot Congress president and former party MLA Indranil Rajyaguru who had contested against Chief Minister Rupani in assembly election last year today announced his resignation from all posts of the party. He said he was quitting the party and all party posts.

‘Rather than what is true and what should actually happen, I would be asked by party leaders every time that in party politics such and such things would happen and that should be accepted. I was not in politics for party politics, I was here to serve the people. I believe, even today, the ideology of Congress party is best with its all shortcomings. I believe Congress is 100 times better than BJP. But the style of functioning at the state level in party disappoints me. My friend Shaktisinh Gohil stopped me in the past when I wanted to quit, but I am enough tired now. I have not asked Shaktisinh this time and messaged the party president today directly conveying my resignation,’ he added.

Rajyaguru said he had not received any reply of his message.

‘I am not going to join BJP in this birth and even in next birth. Ideology of BJP will destroy the country,’ Rajyaguru said adding that in coming days he will continue to serve the people through political or non-political path.

Rajyaguru said the state Congress functioning was the main reason for his resignation. ‘Party can function only this way’, was something I was told every-time. And I believed party can function using other way also. That was the issue, said Rajyaguru.

He also questioned party’s decision to give posts to those who according to him were working against Congress party. Rajyaguru named Kunvarji Bavalia in his talk with media and criticised party for giving post to Bavalia. He said Bavalia was given post inspite of his anti-party activity.
