Of those resigned today 19 were either current or former office bearers of the district congress committee. Around 40 workers also resigned from the party in support of Rajyaguru, who had changed his erstwhile constituency to contest assembly poll unsuccessfully from Rajkot-west seat against CM Vijay Rupani.

Over a dozen of the party coroprators in RMC have also reportedly given ultimatum to the state party leadership.

Notably, a group of Congress leaders/workers today also created ruckus at the party state head-office in Ahmedabad in presence of president Amit Chavda. Some of the party leaders/workers including Nirav Bakshi, a strong contender for the post of city unit of the party also resigned.
