Bhavnagar to get Plastic Park, Plastic Research and Education Institute: Mandaviya

Bhavnagar: Mansukh Mandaviya, Minister of State for Road Transport & Highways, Shipping, Chemicals & Fertilizers, Government of India today said the Centre has approved plastic park for development of plastic industry in Bhavnagar.
‘A proposal for setting up a Plastic Park was sent to the Centre. Plastic and Petrochemicals department is under my purview in the Centre. Day before ysterday, the Centre has approved Plastic Park. This will avail new opportunities to plastic industries here. Ghogha in Bhavnagar is now linked to Dahej through sea route. Dahej offers row material for plastic industry,’ Mandaviya said.
He further said, ‘Bhavnagar will have Central Plastic Research Institute for which the land has been identified by district Collector. The Centre has approved proposal for setting up this institute. Bhavnagar has Salt Research Marine Chemical Institute. The new institute for Plastic research, education and industrial development will be equally good.’
Chief Minister Vijay Rupani in his address said, the State government has handed over 151 acre land to Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation(GIDC) immediately for setting up a Plastic Park.
Proposed Plastic Park will be established in 115 hectare land. The Government of India will provide grant-in-aid of Rs 40 crore for proposed park according to Mandaviya.
