Bhavnagar: The Indian Air Force’s (IAF) renowned Suryakiran Aerobatic Team will stage an air show over Bortalav Lake in Bhavnagar on Sunday, November 1, marking the first time the city will host the spectacular aerial display. Nine Hawk Mk-132 jet trainer aircraft will perform a series of synchronised aerobatic manoeuvres, including intricate formations and colourful displays featuring the colours of the Indian tricolour.

Ahead of the main event, four aircraft from the team conducted a successful rehearsal over Bortalav Lake on Friday, creating a heart-shaped formation in the sky. The rehearsal offered residents a glimpse of the aerial spectacle planned for Sunday.

Union Minister of State Nimuben Bambhaniya announced details of the event during a press conference earlier, expressing gratitude to Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh for facilitating the air show in Bhavnagar.

Nine Hawk jets to perform 30–40-minute aerial display

According to Bambhaniya, nine Hawk Mk-132 aircraft operated by the Suryakiran Aerobatic Team will perform for approximately 30 to 40 minutes. The display will feature intricate aerial manoeuvres, precision flying and formations showcasing the colours of the national flag.

The performance, scheduled to begin at around 10 am on Sunday, is expected to highlight the Indian Air Force’s precision, discipline and operational capabilities while inspiring young people to consider a career in the armed forces.

Administration makes arrangements for spectators

The event is being organised with the joint support of the district administration and the Bhavnagar Municipal Corporation. Bambhaniya has appealed to residents to attend the air show with their families and witness the aerial performance.

She also urged spectators to follow traffic regulations, maintain discipline and ensure the safety of children and senior citizens during the event. Visitors have also been requested to maintain cleanliness at the venue and cooperate with the authorities. DeshGujarat
