Court rejects govt.’s plea to cancel Hardik’s bail, PAAS leader’s request for removal of ban on entry in Ramol area also turned down

A local court today refused to cancel the bail of Congress backed PAAS leader Hardik Patel in Ramol rioting case of last year pertaining to attack on the residence of a BJP corporator.
The court of ADJ Chauhan however also rejected the plea of Patel in which he had sought the removal of ban on his entry in Ramol area till the hearing of the case.
Hardik, who is sitting on an indefinite fast at his residence here had expressed apprehension that his bail might be rejected to stop his agitation.
At a time when his much hyped fast has failed to draw much attention, the relief to him is also sort of jolt for him as in case of the rejection of his bail he would have got some public sympathy.
The state government had filed a petition seeking the rejection of his bail claiming that Hardik had entered in Ramol area defying the bail condition.
The verdict was expected a day before start of Hardik’s fast on August 24 but it could not be delivered due to the judge being on leave.
The case pertains to the attack on the residence of BJP corporator of the AMC Paresh Patel in Astha Bungalows in Vastral area of the city on March 20, 2017.
