VHP leader murder case – amid tension and violence in Mahuva, mobile internet stopped for five days

Bhavnagar: The mobile internet services in Mahua town of Bhavnagar district in Gujarat have been stopped for five days in the wake of prevailing tension after the incident of murder of a local leader of Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) 3 days ago.
Jayesh Gujariya Koli (23), the head of Mahuva taluka VHP unit, was stabbed to death in Gandhibagh area of the town in the night of October 23. Another person, his aide, Mahesh was injured and has been referred to Bhavnagar for treatment.
Incident of torching in vehicles and damaging shops had also taken place last night and in the night of the incident. The administration has decided to stop the mobile internet to check rumour mongering. Police had to resort to baton charge and tear gas lobbing last night.
PI S N Barot four persons including Aslam Pe, Imran and Bapudi Miya have been booked and arrested in the murder case and 35 have been arrested for rioting.
Extra police deployment including that of SRP has been made in the town in the wake of tension.
The killing of Jayesh was result of a fight between two sides during Navratri this year.
