300 locals from six close-by villages called for job-interview by private company looking after maintenance of statue of unity

Kevadia: Amid increasing pressure from locals for job in the statue of unity (SoU) project, the private company looking after maintenance of its premises has reportedly called 300 people from the close-by six villages for job related interviews.

The company working as a sub-let agency of L&T has called 50 people from each of the six villages for interview tomorrow.

Sarpanch of one of the six villages Vaghodiya where a plant was set up for construction of the statue, Govind Tadvi today said that the company has called 50 people from each of the villages including Navagam, Limbadi, Kevadia, Kothi and Gora.

Notably, completion of the construction of the statue of unity had rendered around 4000 people including 1000 locals job-less.

Attempts were on to adjust most of these in the maintenance and other related jobs now.
