November 02, 2026
Ekta Nagar: Gujarat has introduced a premium AC Vista Dome Coach bus service at the Statue of Unity to offer tourists an enhanced travel experience while exploring the state’s scenic landscapes and heritage attractions. The initiative is a joint effort by the Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation (GSRTC) and Gujarat Tourism.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the first Vista Dome bus service at the Statue of Unity and also enjoyed a ride aboard the specially designed coach.
Five AC Vista Dome coaches have been manufactured for the initiative, reportedly for the first time in India in accordance with international standards. The buses feature transparent dome-shaped roofs, allowing passengers to enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding landscapes from air-conditioned cabins.
Each coach has a passenger capacity of 23 and is equipped with revolving, adjustable reclining seats, a premium LED Smart TV, CCTV cameras, coffee and tea-making facilities, a mini refrigerator and mobile charging points. Safety features include an advanced fire detection and suppression system and toughened glass with emergency hammers.
The buses feature exterior graphics showcasing Gujarat’s prominent tourist destinations, including the Statue of Unity, Somnath Temple, Dwarka, Gir National Park, Adalaj Stepwell, the White Rann of Dhordo and Vijay Vilas Palace.
Each coach costs ₹2.19 crore. Of the five buses planned, two have been inaugurated, while the remaining three are expected to be introduced within the next two months. Tickets can be booked through the GSRTC website.
Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi said similar services would be introduced in phases across other tourist destinations and heritage routes in Gujarat, providing visitors with a more comfortable and immersive way to explore the state. DeshGujarat
