Home minister Rajnath Singh arrives at Kevadia to attend DGP meet; visits Statue of Unity

Statue of Unity: Union home minister Shri Rajnath Singh arrived here today to attend the all India DGP (Director General of Police) meet. Rajnath Singh visited Statue of Unity, the tallest statue in the world featuring India’s first home minister Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and paid floral tribute at the feet of the Statue. A section of visitors complained about halted operations of hop-on-hop-off buses in connection with Rajnath’s visit. It should be mentioned here that Prime Minister Narendra Modi is arriving tomorrow to participate in annual DGP meet in which DGP of various states from across India will remain present. Visitors are advised to arrive at Statue of Unity post 11.00 am in connection with PM’s visit. The PM may take night halt in tent city near Statue of Unity and leave for Gandhinagar next day to address the national convention of Women’s wing of ruling Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP) before leaving for Delhi.
