Gujarat girl sets Guinness World Record with 5-Foot, 7-Inch long hair

Modasa: Nilanshi Patel, a 16-year old girl from Modasa town in North Gujarat has earned a Guinness World Record for the longest hair on a teenager – that measure 5-foot and 7-inches!
Nilanshi, a student of 11th standard in school is daughter of teacher couple in Sayra village of Modasa town of Arvalli district in North Gujarat. She plays table tennis, she also participates in swimming, chess, keyboard playing and dancing activities.
“I got my hair cut, a really bad haircut. So, then I decided that I won’t cut my hair. I decided that when I was six and have not cut it since,” she explains to Guinness World Records.
Nilanshi said, she attracts celebrity like attention when she goes out, thanks to her long hair.
Nilanshi’s father Brijeshbhai says, he is proud of his only child Nilanshi. Nilanshi’s father Kaminiben says having long hair is considered an important ingredient of beauty. Nilanshi’s school principal Mr. Joshi points out that Nilanshi is very bright student. She has also participated in table tennis at national level.
Nilanshi has been nicknamed Rapunzel by her friends. She has not cut her hair in last ten years. She washes her hair once a week with the help of her mother.

“People think that I face so many problems with my hair, but I don’t face any problems, I do sports and all the things with my hair. It’s a lucky charm for me,” says Nilanshi.
“I style it is as a long braid or as a bun on the top of my head. When I am going to an occasion, or when I am playing table tennis, I bun my hair on my head so that it is comfortable for me.”
