State Congress upset since Jasdan defeat: Rupani on internal bickering
January 05, 2019
Gandhinagar: Amid the said internal bickering in Gujarat congress and its leaders, Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Vijay Rupani today said that the party has become upset after its defeat in Jasdan assembly by-poll.
Talking to newsmen Rupani said that though it was an internal matter of Congress and he did not want to speak about it yet it was a fact that there was no leadership in the party.
‘Since its defeat in Jasdan by poll the party was upset,’ Rupani said.
He said that the BJP would again win all the 26 loksabha seats in Gujarat.
BJP candidate and Gujarat Minister Kunvarji Bavaliya, who had left Congress in July this year, had won Jasdan by poll comfortably defeating Congress candidate Avsar Nakiya. Jasdan is a known Congress bastion where BJP could so far register victory only twice.
Notably, Congress today held meeting with regard to preparation of LS poll and selection of candidates.
It is also being said that a section of Congress leaders in the state who were annoyed at the current leadership would meet Rahul Gandhi to complain about the way of handling of party affair in the state.
It is also being said that rather than trying to win all the 26 seats Congress was only focusing on 13 seats due to said weakness of organization. Party in-charge Rajiv Satav however rejected such reports saying that the party was focusing on all the seats.
