Bad news for wildlife lovers, one of the two lioness kept under Lion Gene Pool project in Barda Sanctuary of Gujarat dead

Porbandar: In a bad news for the wildlife lovers, one of the two lioness kept under ambitious Lion Gene Pool Project in in Satvirda Nesh in the Barda Wildlife Sanctuary in Porbandar district of Gujarat died today.
CCF Junagadh D T Vasavada said that 8 years old lioness Parvati had given birth to a healthy female cub on May 6 and then a dead cub was born on May 9. She was not keeping well since then. The animal was under continuous observation and treatment but it died at 4 am today. The body was taken to Sakkarbaug zoo for post mortem.
Notably on April 3 earlier, the two healthy cubs of another lioness kept under ambitious Lion Gene Pool Project in the Barda Wildlife Sanctuary
had died. Sarita the second of the two lioness kept in the sanctuary under the project had given birth to the cubs on April 1. The two cubs had sustained injuries due to inability of the first time mother Sarita to carry them properly which was normal affair among big cats.
In the Sarvirda Nesh there were two male lions Avon and Nagraj and two lioness Sarita and Parvati of whom Parvati has now died.
