Low pressure area causing heavy rain in parts of Gujarat moves northward towards South Pakistan, no more heavy spells form tomorrow

Ahmedabad: The low pressure area (in to which the erstwhile cyclone VAYU has weakened) causing rain in parts of Gujarat has moved northwards and lies over South Pakistan and adjoining West Rajasthan

There won’t be any more heavy rains from tomorrow. However the spells of light to moderate rain at isolated places would continue. Temperature across the state have fallen considerably and no place saw mercury going beyond 38 degree Celsius. In Ahmedabad the maximum at 32.2 was over 6 degrees below normal. The highest was recorded at 37.8 degree Celsius at Kandala Airport.

According to the bulletin issued by the met department the Low Pressure Area over Kutch and adjoining areas of southwest Rajasthan and South Pakistan now lies over South Pakistan and adjoining West Rajasthan.

STATE FORECAST:-

FALL IN MAXIMUM TEMPERATURE VERY LIKELY BY 2-3 DEGREE CELCIUS OVER THE REGION DURING NEXT 24 HOURS AND RISE BY 2-3 DEGREE CELCIUS THEREAFTER.

DAY 2: (Valid from 0830 Hrs. IST of 19/06//2019 to 0830 Hrs. IST of 20/06/2019):-

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers very likely at a few places in all the districts of Gujarat region namely Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Patan, Mehsana, Gandhinagar, Ahmedabad, Mahisagar, Valsad and Navsari; at isolated places in the districts of Saurashtra-Kutch namely Gir Somnath, Diu, Amreli, Bhavnagar, Kutch. Dry weather very likely in remaining districts of Gujarat region, Saurashtra and in Diu, Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli.

DAY-3: (Valid from 0830 Hrs. IST of 20/06/2019 to 0830 Hrs. IST of 21/06/2019):-

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers very likely at isolated places in the districts of Gujarat region namely Valsad, Navsari and in Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli; in the districts of Saurashtra namely Gir Somnath, Amreli, Bhavnagar. Dry weather very likely in remaining districts of Gujarat region, Saurashtra-Kutch and in Diu.

DAY-4: (Valid from 0830 Hrs. IST of 21/06/2019 to 0830 Hrs. IST of 22/06/2019):

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers very likely at isolated places in the districts of Gujarat region namely Valsad, Navsari and in Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli; in the districts of Saurashtra namely Gir Somnath, Amreli, Bhavnagar. Dry weather very likely in remaining districts of Gujarat region, Saurashtra-Kutch and in Diu.

DAY-5: (Valid from 0830 Hrs. IST of 22/06/2019 to 0830 Hrs. IST of 23/06/2019):-

Light to moderate rain/thundershowers very likely at isolated places in the districts of Gujarat region namely Valsad, Navsari and in Daman, Dadra Nagar Haveli; in the districts of Saurashtra namely Gir Somnath, Amreli, Bhavnagar.
