Gujarat govt OKays GSDMA’s proposal to set up Early Warning Dissemination System for cyclone alert

Gandhinagar: The State government has given nod to proposal to set up ‘Early Warning Dissemination System’ for advance alert against threat of cyclone on the coast.
The system will be set up jointly by National Disaster Management Authority and World Bank under National Cyclone Risk Mitigation Project through Gujarat State Disaster Management Authority.
Chief Minister Rupani has taken a decision to allocate Rs. 20 crore for five-year operation and maintenance of this system after it starts functioning.
