Ahmedabad: Congress today said that its win on three of the 6 assembly by-polls in Gujarat, the home-state of PM Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister cum BJP president Amit Shah was ‘significant’.
Talking over phone Gujarat congress in-charge Rajiv Satav said the victory on 3 of the six seats and close loss on the fourth was an indication of the beginning of change in Gujarat.
‘This win is significant for us as Gujarat is the home state of PM Modi and HM Shah where BJP had in the last general election this year had won all the 26 Loksabha seats,’ he said.
To a query about the defeat of Alpesh Thakor and Dhaval Zala who had switched over to BJP from Congress, he said that people have defeated most of the such party-changers even in Maharashtra-his home state.
