After Amit Shah’s intervention on dilapidated water tanks issue, AMC shows promptness, says- will demolish remaining such 57 tanks safely in 45 days

Gandhinagar: After local BJP MP, party president and union home minister Amit Shah reportedly took the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) authorities to task over the issue of dilapidated overhead water tanks, the local body today said that it has already demolished 42 of the total 99 such tanks in its area and would demolish the remaining ones safely in 45 days.
Municipal Commissioner Vijay Nehra said that Shah had talked to him on this issue and showed his concern as the local representative.
There were a total of 191 overhead water tanks in the city of which 73 were not in use now. Out of the total 99 dilapidated old such tanks, 73 were not in use.
He said that the remaining 57 such dilapidated tanks would be demolished within 45 days.
Nehra said that in the areas where such in-use water tanks were removed or would be removed. alternative connection had been or would be made available.
