IntrCity by RailYatri launches first air-conditioned lounge for bus travelers in Gujarat

Ahmedabad: Leading multi-modal Intercity mobility network, IntrCity by RailYatri, the Delhi-NCR based company which is into rail-ticketing, on train e-catering and bus services today said that It has planned to expand the size of its bus segment by almost 10 times in next two years.
On the occasion of the launch of its first boarding lounge for bus passengers in Gujarat in Paldi area here, Chief Business Officer of the company Swapnil Tripathi today said that the brand was currently running around 84 buses across 20 primary routes and several sub routes connecting over 90 cities in South, North and West India.
‘We have planned to increase the number of buses associated with our brand to over 200 in four to six months and 2000 in next 2 years by when we would be operating on 250 to 300 main routes across the country. In around 8 to 10 months we will also be launching our bus services in Eastern region of the country. The net revenue of the company in next two years is also likely to increase to $50 to 70 million (Rs 350 to 500 crores) form current $7 million (Rs 50 crores). Of it over 50% would come from bus service and 10% from e-catering and rest from rail ticketing business,’ he said.
Talking about Gujarat he said that currently there was only one Ahmedabad (via Surat) to Mumbai bus service but direct bus service to Hyderabad and also to Madhya Pradesh and Delhi would be launched soon. After that other cities in the state would also be connected with it.
He said that the company has developed the concept of air conditioned smart lounge to provide airport like experience to the waiting bus passengers. It also have facilities like Wi-Fi, recliners for taking naps, charging points and basic amenities like clean drinking water and toilets. The company would start another such lounge in Satellite area of Ahmedabad. Currently there were only four such lounges across the country including the ones in Bengaluru and Lucknow and by February this year the number would be increased to 8. All the buses of the brand were equipped with on-board washrooms, Wi-fi, automatic passenger information system and on-board infotainment. To ensure the safety of the passengers, each bus has CCTV cameras, GPS, a state of the art AI enabled driver alert system and alcohol test system for them. The buses were monitored from a central command centers.
To a query he said that the fares of the buses were at par with that of AC 3 and AC 2 tier class of railways and provide even better facilities for the passengers.
