CM Rupani to launch all important NABARD prepared ‘State Focus Paper’ for Gujarat tomorrow

Ahmedabad: CM Vijay Rupani will launch the all important ‘State Focus Paper’ for Gujarat for the year 2020-21 prepared by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) tomorrow.
Talking to newsmen here today Gujarat state Chief General Manager (CGM) of NABARD, D K Mishra said that the State Focus Paper presented the potential for deployment of bank credit under priority sectors for the state as whole and even the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) also gave due importance to it.
‘NABARD prepares potential linked credit plans (PLP’s) every year for each district of the state to estimate the credit potential under priority sector. These PLP’s are aggregated into the State Focus Paper which also reflects the critical infrastructure required in a state for harnessing the credit potential so assessed,’ he added.
He said that the State Focus Paper would be launched during the state credit seminar to be held at the state secretariat in capital Gandhinagar tomorrow. CM Rupani would attend the meeting. The DyCM cum Finance Minister Nitin Patel and other senior ministers were also likely to remain present on the occasion.
To a query he said that NABARD has so far cumulatively provided a fund of Rs 30 thousand crores to Gujarat as Rural Infrastructure development fund of which around 70% was for irrigation projects including all important SAUNI project.
He said that the number of Farmer Producer’s Organization (FPO) in Gujarat was likely to reach 205 by the end of this fiscal from current 190. 35 FPO have been added so far this year and 15 more were likely to be added.
