Port town Mundra in Kutch to get Municipality Status

Gandhinagar: Port town Mundra in Kutch will get municipality status with merger of Baroi and Mundra gram panchayats. The decision has been taken by Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, said the State government note.
According to note, Mundra gram panchayat has around 35,000 population while Baroi group gram pamchayat has around 25,000 population. With municipality status to both, around 60,000 rural population will get road, gutter system, light etc facilities.
In another decisions taken by State urban development department under Rupani, 21 private societies in Sanand municipality area will get Rs. 2 crore CC roads under Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana.
