PM Modi promotes Modhera Sun Temple, posts video of its splendid look on a rainy day
August 26, 2020
New Delhi: Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi today shared a video clip of Modhera Sun Temple of North Gujarat in rainy day. A large kunda of around 1,000-year old Solanki era Surya Mandir in Modhera looks splendid as rain water flowing in. Parts of North Gujarat, especially Mahesana district in which Modhera temple is located, received upto 13 inch rains in last weekend. A kunda in Sun temple is an example of an ancient Indian wisdom in preserving and conserving rain water then embracing a subterranean architectural typology through kund or water tank — typical to the region Gujarat Like always the Prime Minister has used Indian classical music in video. This goes along with the spirit of his call to promote Indian traditional arts, crafts, culture and music.
