October 05, 2020
Bhavnagar: Bhavnagar will witness Rs. 41.15 crore works for cleaning of Kansara river in the length of 8.1 km starting from Gaurishankar Talav West wier behind Dukhishyambapa ashram to Old disposal plant near Tilaknagar bridge. RCC canal to be constructed under this project will be 35-46 meter wide with 12 meter roads on its both sides. A drainage line will be laid for disposal of waste water discharge from Kansara river on the left bank between Virani bridge to Old disposal plant. Waste water flowing in the river will be trapped in this trunk main. In order to keep oxygen level intact in this stored water, 12 venturi type jet aerator systems and 36 rain water harvesting structures will be erected. Thanks to this project, waste flowing in Kansara river will be removed in order to benefit around 2.50 lakh people living in proximity to Kansara river. This project will also result into ground water recharge. Ground breaking for this project took place today in presence of MoS Vibhavari Dave.
