Stipend of interns who had ‘unconditionally’ withdrawn strike early this week raised

Gandhinagar: The Government of Gujarat has taken a decision to give additional Rs. 5,000 incentive allowance to 2200 intern doctors working with the State government and GMERS run.
Interns who had gone on strike demanding Rs. 20,000 monthly stipend will now get Rs. 18,000 stipend, up from earlier Rs. 13,000. This hike will be given to interns whose term is ending during April 2020 and upto February 2021.
Interns had earlier this week went on strike demanding hike in stipend over their Covid19 pandemic related services. However after meeting with Health minister Nitin Patel they had withdrawn the strike ‘unconditionally.’ DeshGujarat
