IITE VC exposes Arvind Kejriwal’s wrong claim

Gandhinagar: Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Admi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal’s factually incorrect boasting was countered and exposed by Gujarat based IITE (Indian Institute of Teacher Education) Vice Chancellor Harshad Patel today on micro blogging site tweeter. Patel’s tweet, exposing Kejriwal’s wrong claim attracted over ten thousand likes and nearly five thousand retweets within few hours.

Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal today in his tweet made announcement that Delhi government will this year set up India’s first Teachers University where best teachers of India and the world will be made.

It’s worth noting that then Chief Minister of Gujarat, Shri Narendra Modi had unveiled the draft curriculum of IITE on 30th June 2011. An act to establish the IITE was passed in year 2010. Shri Modi had in those years said, ‘improvement in education requires more prominence to producing the best teachers than creating the infrastructure for education. The method of education is inevitably as crucial as the management of education.

IITE Gujarat has been enlisted in 23 best practices in the country in human resources development in the report of NITI Aayog.
