Steep hike in parking charges at Adani controlled SVPI airport of Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: Parking charges at Adani Airports managed Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport (SVPI) Airport, Ahmedabad will increase with effect from 1 April, 2021 for various categories of vehicles.
The existing rates for the private car parking are 30 INR for upto 30 minutes, 90 INR for upto 2 hours and 260 INR for upto 24 hours. After 1st April, that shall be raised to 90 INR for upto 30 minutes, 150 INR for upto 2 hours and 590 INR for upto 24 hours.
The cargo tariffs for parking private and commercial cars, auto and tempo will be 150 INR for upto 4 hours and 1150 for upto 24 hours. The previous parking charges for the commercial vehicles were 50 INR for three wheeler auto and 90 INR for four wheeler vehicles.
After 1st April, the parking charges for the buses/ coaches will be 500 INR for the duration of up to 30 minutes, 800 INR for the duration of up to 2 hours and 3000 INR for the duration of up to 24 hours. These charges are 40 INR, 100 INR and 300 INR for the duration of up-to 30 minutes, 2 hours and 24 hours, respectively at present time. The parking charges for minibuses and tempo will be raised to 300 INR, 500 INR and 1875 INR from the existing rate of 30 INR, 100 INR and 300 INR for the duration of 30 minutes, 2 hours and 24 hours, respectively.
The officials from Adani Group said that considering the price hike in vehicle parking charges, various amenities at the airport will be also updated. It is to be noted that after the privatization of the SVPI airport in the year 2020, the operations were handed over to the private player Adani Group by Airport Airports Authority of India (AAI).
