4 held in Ahmedabad for black marketing of Amphotericin B injections

Sabarmati: Ahmeadbad city police crime branch today said it has caught 4 persons for allegedly black marketing Amphotericin B injections that are used for treatment of Mucormycosis or black fungus which is rapidly rising in the state, especially those diabetic who were previously treated for Covid19 infection. The accused are alleged to have been selling one injection for Rs 10,000 against Maximum Retail Price of Rs 315 each.
The accused are identified as Lalit Patel(30), Vashisth Patel(34), Nirav Panchal(30), Smit Raval(30) and Hardik. They are from Ghatlodia, Vadaj and Naranpura area of city. Police had trapped the accused on complaint of Mahesh Dabhi, who works with Food and Drug Control Administration of State government.
