Gandhinagar: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani will on Saturday, May 29 visit Mahatma Mandir based designated covid hospital in capital Gandhinagar.
The hospital is being set up by central government arm DRDO after it was announcement by local Lok Sabha member and union Home minister Amit Shah when he visited DRDO run another covid designated hospital at Gujarat University Convention Centre in Ahmedabad.
Shah had announced a DRDO covid hospital at Helipad ground in Gandhinagar with the help of Tata. However later, the venue of Helipad ground was not found suitable and the venut was shifted to Mahatma Mandir.
A new 900-bed facility with oxygen supply to all beds and ICU unit is being readied when the numbers of fresh and active cases of covid19 in the State are falling. However if there’s third wave of covid19 pandemic in the State, it will be very useful not just for the people of Gandhiniagar, but also Ahmedabad and North Gujarat. Even presently, if it is made operational, it can reduce the burden on Civil hospital. The DRDO facility will serve as an extension of GMERS Gandhinagar civil hospital. DeshGujarat
