Rajkot: A new greenfield airport of Rajkot is under construction near Hirasar on national highway to Ahmedabad over 1025 hectares of land by the Airport Authority of India (AAI). According to General Manager who is looking after the project, the first phase works involve estimated cost of Rs. 670 crore which shall complete by August 2022. The second phase works will include terminal building and final touches. At present, 46 per cent works for 3040 meter single runway are over. The works for apron area of airport are over in size of 354 by 152 meter. Parallel taxi track is connected through three links for which 90 per cent works are over.
