ACB Gujarat nabs village Sarpanch in Rs. 48,000 bribe case

Valsad: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Gujarat has nabbed the sarpanch of Karjun village in Kaprada Taluka of Valsad in a Rs 48,000 bribe case.
Accused Bharatbhai Dhakalbhai Raut- Sarpanch of Karjun had allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 48,000 from a contractor for signing a check which was approved as payment of the damar road construction done in the village by him. The accused had earlier demanded Rs. 70,000 from the complainant and later reduced it to Rs 48,000 after arguments.
The contractor contacted ACB as he didn’t want to pay the bribe, following which a trap was arranged and accused Sarpanch was nabbed while taking the bribe. DeshGujarat
