Surat PAAS leader Alpesh Kathiria gets bail from Gujarat High Court

Surat: The Gujarat High Court has approved bail of former Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) quota agitation leader Alpesh Kathiria’s bail. Kathiria was in judicial custody for last over three months. He was arrested by Special Operation Group of Surat Police on March 21 this year in rioting and atrocity case filed against him and his aides by Chhotubhai Vasava led Bharatiya Tribal Party (BTP) cadres. Kathiria was key person who created a special situation in PAAS influenced areas of Surat in which Delhi based Aam Admi Party (AAP) could win 27 seats in civic body elections earlier this year, while AAP candidates lost candidates elsewhere in Surat and entire Gujarat.
