Bhavnagar gets Cancer hospital

Bhavnagar: Bhavnagar has today got a Rs. 32. 11 crore ‘Bhavnagar Cancer Care & Research Institute’ at Sir Takhtasinhji Hospital. The institute is an initiative of Ahmedabad based ‘Gujarat Cancer & Research Institute’ which had signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the State government for this cause.

Speaking at a function in Bhavnagar today, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani credited local MLA and Minister of State Vibhavariben Dave for doing hard work to bring a cancer treatment to Bhavnagar. Rupani referred to passing away of Vibhavariben’s husband due to cancer and said Vibhavariben continuously pursued for a cancer hospital in Bhavnagar itself so that no other suffer the same that his husband had to went through.

The other development works that were dedicated in presence of Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister in Bhavnagar today include allotment of 292 affordable houses constructed at a cost of Rs. 18.88 crore, inauguration of 5 MLD capacity water treatment plant, pond beautification at Nari and inauguration of a CC road.
