Mehsana: Two students of Kadi taluka in Mehsana district traveling to Canada for studies got stuck in Poland due to error by an immigration officer of Poland during document verification. When contacted, the Lok Sabha MP of Mehsana immediately approached the Ministry of External Affairs following which both students were allowed to travel to Canada.
Two students Riya Shaileshbhai Patel and Harshkumar Dineshbhai Patel were traveling to Canada via Poland for further studies. An immigration officer in Poland made a mistake in computer entry of the visa number during document verification. As a result, the students were stopped for inquiry by the immigration department at Poland airport. The immigration officer didn’t admit his error and initiated the procedure of sending both the students back to India. Later, both students informed their families about the matter over phone calls.
The families back in India contacted local Lok Sabha member Shardaben Patel who contacted the Ministry of External Affairs. The Under Secretary of the Ministry of External Affairs took immediate steps and both students were then sent to Canada instead of getting deported to India. DeshGujarat
