Gujarat govt to purchase CT Scan, MRI machines for public hospitals

Gandhinagar: Deputy Chief Minister Nitin Patel who is also Health minister of the State today announced State government’s decision to purchase new MRI (Magnetic resonance imaging) and CT (Computed tomography) Scan machines for public hospitals.
GMERS linked civil hospitals at Sola, Gotri (Vadodara) and Gandhinagar will get MRI machines at a cost of Rs. 30 crore.
17 district level hospitals will get 16-slice CT scan machines at a cost of Rs. 42.50 crore at general hospitals in Anand, Ahwa, Botad, Bharuch, Chhota Udepur, Godhra, Jam Khambhaliya, Lunawada, Mahesana, Navsari, Rajpipla, Surendranagar, Veraval and Vyara in addition to SS hospital in Petlad, PK hospital in Rajkot and Jamnabai hospital in Vadodara.
Nine 128-slice CT scan machines will be purchased for Civil hospital Ahmedabad, SSG hospital in Vadodara, new Civil hospital in Surat, Sir T hospital in Bhavnagar, PDU hospital in Rajkot, GG hospital in Jamnagar, GMERS medical college linked hospital in Gandhinagar, GMERS medical college linked hospital at Gotri in Vadodara GMERS medical college linked hospital at Junagadh at a cost of Rs. 45 crore.
