ACB Gujarat nabs a Sarpanch in bribe case

Gandhinagar: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) Gujarat had nabbed the sarpanch of Bhatiya village of Talod Taluka of Sabarkantha for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 10,000.
According to ACB, a complainant’s accommodation was confirmed under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. The accused sarpanch Fatesinh Jugsinh Rathod had asked for the documents from the complainant along with an amount of Rs 10,000 by telling that he will soon deposit the instalment of the accommodation. Later, the complainant’s account was credited with the instalment of Rs 30,000 from which the accused had taken Rs 10,000 leading to total amount of Rs 20,000. The accused had later asked for a bribe of Rs 10,000 from the complainant when receiving further instalment of Rs 50,000.
The complainant contacted ACB as he was not willing to pay the bribe of Rs 10,000. The sarpanch was caught while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 during a trap by ACB.
