Rupani’s private visit to Ahmedabad

Gandhinagar: After his resignation yesterday, Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani was spotted in Bodakdev area of Ahmedabad city. Rupani had arrived at a private residence in this area with his convoy of cars. Rupani is Jain by faith. It has come to light that he had come for ‘Parna’ ceremony of his sister’s daughter. The followers of Jain faith celebrated their biggest annual festival ‘Samvatsari’ a day before yesterday after several days long Paryushan festival. Lot of Jains observe 9-day long fasts during Paryushan, the end of which is celebrated as ‘Paarnaa’ on Samvatsari day. Rupani had resigned from the post of Chief Minister after staying in power for five years and one month. The name of new Chief Minister will be clear today. DeshGujarat
