BJP MLAs called to Gandhinagar ahead of swearing in of new Cabinet

Gandhinagar: Swearing in of new cabinet of Gujarat is awaited for last two days. Though there’s no official announcement regarding the date and time of oath-taking function yet, it was learnt that the function can take place even today, earlier than previously speculated date as the banners with mention of September 15 were put at Raj Bhavan. However later the banners were removed and oath taking may now take place tomorrow. The new Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel had taken oath without cabinet on September 13. The MLAs of party were asked to reach capital Gandhinagar by 10.00 am today by chief whip.

It is believed that new cabinet will not be just a reshuffle or rejig but a hard reboot. To take care of possible ramifications and to ensure smooth transition, the party leaders including State party incharge Bhupendra Yadav are camping in Gandhinagar. It is learnt that senior ministers who are to be dropped have been informed about the decision of partly leadership and convinced for same.

Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, after his election as legislative leader of party had in his first press conference had said that cabinet formation would take place in coordination with party organization. Patel reached his office at Swarnim Sankul in the morning and held meeting with newly appointed officers of Chief Minister’s office. But one place which is busy during the process of cabinet formation is State party chief CR Patil’s bungalow in Gandhinagar, where MLAs could be seen paying visits. DeshGujarat
