56.24 per cent turnout in GMC election 2021; Result on October 5

Gandhinagar: Turnout of polling for Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation’s regular election on Sunday was 56.24 per cent as per the State Election Commission of Gujarat.
59.52 per cent turnout was recorded in regular/midterm elections of Thara, Okha and Bhanvad municipalities.
Poor turnout of 27.20 per cent was recorded in by-polls of three vacant seats of Municipal Corporations, two in Ahmedabad and one in Junagadh.
In Municipal by-polls 47.99 per cent polling was recorded while in District Panchayats by-polls 57.08 per cent polling was recorded. 67.60 per cent polling was recorded in by-polls of Taluka Panchayats.
According to the State Election Commission, polling was peaceful. Counting will take place on October 5 and the results will be almost clear by noon. DeshGujarat
