Gandhinagar: Anti-corruption Bureau (ACB) Gujarat has nabbed the sarpanch of Bavsar group gram panchayat of Himmatnagar taluka in Sabarkantha in a bribe case of Rs 1,50,000.

The complainant had built an iron factory in Bavsar group gram panchayat area and the accused sarpanch Mukeshkumar Gabhaji Parmar had demanded a bribe for a permission letter for its construction. The accused sarpanch had issued the permission letter considering the request of the complainant but he continued to demand bribe. He threatened the complainant of causing financial damages to the factory by raising the assessment if the bribe of Rs 1,50,000 isn’t paid.

The complainant contacted ACB as he was not willing to pay the bribe. The accused was found accepting a bribe of Rs 1,50,000 from the complainant during a trap executed by ACB. ACB had detained the accused Sarpanch. DeshGujarat
