Gujarat government to launch Niramay Yojana later this week

Gandhinagar: The Government of Gujarat is going to start Niramaya Yojana covering 3 crore people above 30-year age across the State which is 40 per cent of population. Under this Yojana, screening will take place every Friday at PHC, CHC centres where Mamata Divas is marked, said Spokesperson minister Jitubhai Vaghani in press briefing today.

He added that after screening and checkup the patients facing cancer, heart disease, kidney etc illnesses will be given cards. Niramay Yojana will be launched by Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel from Palanpur on November 12 at 9.30 am. Health minister will attend a function at Mahesana. 33 districts and 8 cities will be covered under this programme. This Yojana is about preventive care, Vaghani further said adding that cost of medicines will also be beared by the State government. Various ministers will attend the related functions in various districts.

Vaghani also briefed about five vans launched by the State government under the title ‘food safety on wheels’, thanks to the Centre’s assistance. He said such vans will also be capable to test milk adulteration. He said five more vans are to be given by the Centre. Even the cost of drivers in these vans will be beared by the Centre. DeshGujarat
