Sabarmati: The Ahmedabad-Delhi rail route is likely to get shorter and less time consuming after completion of double track between Mehsana and Palanpur.
A new rail route will open up from Ahmedabad to Delhi after the completion of Ahmedabad-Udaipur gauge conversion work, which is expected to be complete soon. The travel time by Ashram Express from Ahmedabad to Delhi has reduced by 2 hours and 10 minutes, from earlier 17 hrs 30 mins to current 15 hrs 20 mins with some parts of the route to Delhi converted to double track, as per railway officials.
This time will further drop to 14 hrs 20 mins after the completion of the rest of the ongoing work. The time taken by Rajdhani express to reach Delhi from Ahmedabad which is 13 hrs 35 mins, will also be reduced. The completion of electrification work will reduce the travel time further. DeshGujarat
