Gujarat CM approves water supply works in 6 municipalities; declares Vadodara 100 per cent Nal Se Jal covered district

Vadodara: Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel granted in principle approval to water supply works of Rs 63.37 crores in 6 municipalities across the state namely Mahuva, Balasinor, Khedbrahma, Thangadh, Idar,and Sikka.
The water supply works of Rs 21.87 crores in Mahuva, Rs 13.69 crores in Balasinor, Rs 9.08 crores in Khedbrahma, Rs 6.38 crores in Idar, Rs 7.76 crores in Thangadh and Rs 4.59 crores in Sikka have received in principle approval under Swarnim Jayanti Mukhya Mantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana.
CM Patel declared Vadodara district as 100 percent tap water connected district. Vadodara has become the sixth district in the state to get 100 percent of Nal Se Jal after Botad, Anand, Gandhinagar, Mehsana and Porbandar. The water supply minister Rushikesh Patel said on this occasion that there are 3,26, 705 houses in rural areas in Vadodara district. The drinking water is supplied at 100 percent of those houses through taps at a cost of Rs 83.90 crores by including each of them under the Har Ghar Nal Se Jal scheme, he added.
CM Patel dedicated a group water supply scheme of Vadodara North zone of Rs 126.59 crores at Savli. It will provide drinking water to a population of 2.42 lakh as per a press-note. He also performed foundation stone laying of five new group water supply schemes of around Rs 364.80 crores for a total 211 villages of Vadodara, Savli, Desar and Karjan taluka. After fulfillment of these schemes, the rural population of 4.35 lakh will get drinking water in upcoming time. DeshGujarat
